Adult Summer recap 21012

Not only did my kids have a great summer but Dave and I got to enjoy a lot during our summer months as well!!! During our first trip to the lake in KY we took a vacation within a vacation to go to Dave's high school friend Cameron's wedding in Chicago! It was a wonderful long weekend for us and thanks to Dave's mom we got to stay at this swanky hotel downtown Chicago!

Lunch on the water! This restaurant was so fun! We watched all the boats pass as we drank our beers and ate good food!

This photo quality is terrible but Dave and I thought we cleaned up pretty good for old married people :). 

The wedding was so beautiful and fun. Cameron and Liz were a beautiful couple and we really enjoyed catching up with both high school and Dave's Denison friends from college.

This caprice salad has been a summer favorite of ours. We have really enjoyed sitting on the back porch (when the temperature wasn't greater that 95!) and letting the kids play and sitting and enjoying the evening with our family together. For some reason this salad will always bring me back to our back porch with toddlers running underfoot.

We also got to go to a concert this summer!!! Origionally we had bought Uncle Andy tickets to go see Buddy Guy and Johnny Lang with us, however this was one of those nights that it was 100+ and Andy decided to hang back... I don't blame him, but once we got inside the venue the evening turned out to be really nice and Dave and I really enjoyed listening to Johnny Lang!!

During our trip to the lake house with the Smith family the kids busted out "JUST DANCE" on the wii and of course the adults had to have a go. I think Dave won for personality points.

 Each summer as Dave is home he likes to work on a "project". This summer this monster tree-house was his baby!!! The boys obviously are in heaven playing on it!! I love that I married a handy guy!
