14 Weeks

Well, Sorry for the lack of posting while on bedrest. My friend Amanda told me yesterday that she was disappointed in my blogging during my two weeks off and my excuse was that two weeks in bed isn't all that exciting of a thing to blog about ;). I will say that during the second week my Dr. gave me the ok to take short trips out of the house so it wasn't too terrible. So a few things that have happened: This bump has gotten bigger. I am definately still at an akward "wow Jess looks like she has put on alot of weight recently " stage. But I think the baby bump is becoming one :). ( I feel like I should clarify why I am taking all of these pictures of my belly myself... I am a widow. A football widow. Dave has been gone nearly every night slaving away on the football feild coaching a team of freshman that has yet to win a game. He is great... the kids are not. I can't wait until the season is over and I can have my husband back :))

Ode to the maternity jean. Oh maternity jean... where have you been all my life? I had you hanging in the closet thinking that I wouldn't wear you until maybe month seven when I decided to try you on... Just to make sure you would fit. Whoever decided that jeans with an elastic waistband were a good idea is a GENIUS. Now I know those of my high fashion friends.... (ok so thier names are Stacy and Clinton and we aren't really friends, but we've developed a growing relationship during these two weeks in bed during my TLC afternoons) would say that elastic around the waist of any pant is a HUGE no-no.... OH I BEG TO DIFFER. Ladies in this instance wear them loud and wear them proud... your belly will thank you.

I celebrated my 25th birthday yesterday. It was really great. I was able to get out of the house and have a great lunch with my good friend Chrissy and her 3 year old Tucker. They made me a little birthday cake and Tucker helped me blow out the candle. Every time we tell Tucker that I have a baby growing in my tummy he asks if it can come out. He also named it BooBoo. Who knows? I also went to my friend Amber's house and got the rockin haircut I have in these pictures :). Thanks Amber! I then came home ate the leftover spaghetti carbenara my hubby made (my favorite meal he makes!) And he surprised me with a little pink cake and some sparkling grape juice :). So basically I ate cake twice on my birthday... a pretty good one if you ask me.

Your baby bump is beautiful! You do not look overweight. I love the haircut too!

Embrace that bump, and don't grow too attached to those maternity jeans - they are VERY hard to give up!!! There is nothing like being able to dress comfortably for 9 months, and then all of a sudden back to "normal" clothes. I prefer the maternity clothes, thank you very much.

Oh man girl, I love your ode to the maternity jean! I LOVED THEM...I wore them forever after I had parker and now I see them and get depressed, but I think I would maybe still wear them if they weren't at my in laws! So good to see you yesterday, thanks for loving on Parker!

I found your blog through Amanda Uher's and this post cracked me up! I am glad she linked to it! I was alone a lot during my pregnancy (music business widow) and regret giving up on the bump pics...so keep at it girl!

Also I waited until 6 months to maternity clothes and WHY I don't know..they were (let's get real: are!) awesome.

Enjoy!

would it be socially appropriate for non-prego people to wear those maternity pants?
