Glen Lake Photos!

We took our annual trip to upper michigan to be with Dave's family and our good friends the Benders at Glen Lake! Many of the family had not met Eli until this week and it was tons of fun to show him off. It was also tons of fun having the Benders there to share our love of the lake with :).

Daddy may have a little more hair.... for now.

Eli wasn't too sure of the water splashing on his feet at first... as you can see by this picture. But after he got used to the chilly water (it was unseasonably chilly... if its 76 in Ohio is always a few degrees cooler up north) he started wiggling his toes into the sand and giggling when the water ran over his feet.

Eli enjoyed a snooze on our hike. The hiking up there is so pretty, sandy dunes mixed with big forest. I love being outside :). I hope Eli grows up enjoying the creation of God like Dave and I enjoy it.

Eli's first peek at a naked girl.... sheltering your children these days is impossible. At least she's from a good family :).

Bender Seed family vaca. Starting a tradition ! We loved being with these friends.

Just to document the insanely cute sailor outfit I found for Eli.... yes he may hate me in the future for this.... if that is the only reason he hates me I think I'm doing ok. Dave wore a very similar suit as this when he was a little guy and recieved the name "sweetpea" from his aunt because he looked like Sweetpea from Popeye. I don't know about all that but I do think it was so cute I could eat him up.

We are flying a Kite!!! ( not just staring aimlessly into the sky). Hannah and Aly are such sweet little girls. We had so much fun enjoying the lake through thier eyes.

I would say my husband looks so handsome in this picture..... if he wasn't molesting another man.

I mean how can you not say he isn't the cutest baby around?

Making sandcastles outside of the cottage... Dave is working really hard.

Dave promised Aly before we went that she would get to see a mountain made of sand and that when we climbed to the top she could bury daddy up to his head! She was a little trooper climbing the dunes and at the very top she exclaimed... "lets bury daddy!!" Dave couldn't get out of the deal either!

View of the lake from the top of the sand dunes.

Sand dunes from lake michigan side. The dunes connect Glen Lake and Lake Michigan. We like to go to the lake michigan side at sunset. It is truly a beautiful site. Who would have thought that that state up north had beauty?

Family outside of Jeanine's old cottage.

View of the lake from Jeanine's. We had such a wonderful trip. I am so excited to have this spot to take Eli to as he grows and get to enjoy it all over again through his eyes every year :).
