Eli has been saying so many hilarious things lately that I keep telling myself, "That has got to be written down!!" So here is my attempt to hold on to this precious age of 2.5.
Eli just loves his little "bubber" he talks so sweetly to him and I often when returning to a room find them both playing so well alongside each other. When I ask Eli what they are doing he will say ,"I jus playin wit my Juder Beer mommy!"
We have several toys that were "accidentally" cough..... broken by mommy due to thier excessive noise making. Eli is so smart and if he comes across one of these toys he will say ," it brokeen mommy, it outta battries. I fix it!" and he will go run and grab his toy screw driver. Too cute!
Almost a whole year ago Dave took Eli with our friend Brian and his son Jackson to a train exhibit downtown on a Saturday that he had the boys. Now almost every Saturday Eli will wake up and say to Dave, "It Saturday? I go see choo-choo's with Misser Brian and Jackie??" I think Dave must have built up "going to see choo-choo's on Saturday" a little too much!
My mom came to stay with us for the week that Dave was gone in Cambodia. While she was here she read lots of books to Eli including a book on colors. Apparently during this time she told Eli that her favorite color was Green. Now any time I do a color lesson with Eli instead of saying the color GREEN he will say "Oma's favorite."
Speaking of Cambodia Dave brought home several bracelets and necklaces that our kids in Cambodia made. One of them he gave to Elijah. When Elijah wears his "neckace" he says, "I got my Camyodia neckace!"
Inappropriate potty talk.... you've been warned..... When Eli goes to the potty he will stand up from the camode and exclaim, "I did it mommy! I made a snake in the potty!" or " I made nuggets mommy!"......... Lovely what Daddy has been teaching him.
Miss Amber, Elijah's long time crush works as the kids community director at our church and often will take Eli to the potty if he cannot hold it during church service. One week after daddy got Eli dressed Amber took Eli to the potty only to find out that he didn't have underpants on! She told Eli that was ok and he was going commando. Now we have a daily struggle to wear under pants because Eli wants to go "MANDO mommy!"
One morning when momma had had it with the fussing she was trying to drowned out the noise with some music. I put on just whatever was on our Ipod shuffle list and it was some early 90's rap song that had a good beat and was doing to the job to drowned out the noise in my house. Eli started screaming! And he yelled to me, "I NO LIKE YOUR SOOSIC MOMMY! I WANT MY GOD SOOSIC!" Apparently my rap music was in bad taste?
Elijah at 2.5 is sleeping in a big boy bed and is almost 100% potty trained.... of course now we need to work on not dropping trow where-ever he pleases to go "pee-on-tree". He is literally growing up before our eyes. We love you so much Eli.
