Elijah-isms

Eli has been saying so many hilarious things lately that I keep telling myself, "That has got to be written down!!" So here is my attempt to hold on to this precious age of 2.5.

Eli just loves his little "bubber" he talks so sweetly to him and I often when returning to a room find them both playing so well alongside each other. When I ask Eli what they are doing he will say ,"I jus playin wit my Juder Beer mommy!"

We have several toys that were "accidentally" cough..... broken by mommy due to thier excessive noise making. Eli is so smart and if he comes across one of these toys he will say ," it brokeen mommy, it outta battries. I fix it!" and he will go run and grab his toy screw driver. Too cute!

Almost a whole year ago Dave took Eli with our friend Brian and his son Jackson to a train exhibit downtown on a Saturday that he had the boys. Now almost every Saturday Eli will wake up and say to Dave, "It Saturday? I go see choo-choo's with Misser Brian and Jackie??" I think Dave must have built up "going to see choo-choo's on Saturday" a little too much!

My mom came to stay with us for the week that Dave was gone in Cambodia. While she was here she read lots of books to Eli including a book on colors. Apparently during this time she told Eli that her favorite color was Green. Now any time I do a color lesson with Eli instead of saying the color GREEN he will say "Oma's favorite."

Speaking of Cambodia Dave brought home several bracelets and necklaces that our kids in Cambodia made. One of them he gave to Elijah. When Elijah wears his "neckace" he says, "I got my Camyodia neckace!"

Inappropriate potty talk.... you've been warned..... When Eli goes to the potty he will stand up from the camode and exclaim, "I did it mommy! I made a snake in the potty!" or " I made nuggets mommy!"......... Lovely what Daddy has been teaching him.

Miss Amber, Elijah's long time crush works as the kids community director at our church and often will take Eli to the potty if he cannot hold it during church service. One week after daddy got Eli dressed Amber took Eli to the potty only to find out that he didn't have underpants on! She told Eli that was ok and he was going commando. Now we have a daily struggle to wear under pants because Eli wants to go "MANDO mommy!"

One morning when momma had had it with the fussing she was trying to drowned out the noise with some music. I put on just whatever was on our Ipod shuffle list and it was some early 90's rap song that had a good beat and was doing to the job to drowned out the noise in my house. Eli started screaming! And he yelled to me, "I NO LIKE YOUR SOOSIC MOMMY! I WANT MY GOD SOOSIC!" Apparently my rap music was in bad taste?

Elijah at 2.5 is sleeping in a big boy bed and is almost 100% potty trained.... of course now we need to work on not dropping trow where-ever he pleases to go "pee-on-tree". He is literally growing up before our eyes. We love you so much Eli.

One of Eli's blond haired beauties Sophia!

OHHHH!!! I also wanted to update "the fans" that at our last eye dr. appointment Eli got wonderful news!!! In his new bifocal glasses he is no longer googly eyed!!! Yep with the bifocals he is straight as can be. We are so thrilled with our decision to get a second opinion on his eyes as just this simple thing of using bifocals has corrected his esotropia. He will still have some vision therapy in his future but we couldn't be happier with not having to put him through another surgery. God is good.

Caught with his pants down?

After telling Elijah to sit on the potty while I put Jude down for his nap I ran upstairs and started rocking Jude to sleep. I then hear the dogs in the kitchen. I thought that is odd I know I just put the dogs outside.... I laid Jude down and came downstairs to find the glass patio door opened and a certain little boy playing in the dog run...... with his pants down.

Bathing Beauties

My boys just adore being in the bath tub! Elijah has loved the bath since he was about six months old taking a bath in the kitchen sink. And Jude has really enjoyed his baths since his very first one! (Second time mama alert, he possibly enjoys them so much because they are so few and far between?....) Anyhoo I just wanted to capture the essence of bathtime at my house. A ton of smiles. A lot of laughs and eight sweet sweet cheeks.

Big TWO year old!

How can this little itty bitty thing

Turn into this big thing...
And then this really really big thing!!!! I cannot believe my sweet Elijah is two years old already. For his big two year birthday we had so much fun watching him open his presents as he now could understand what that was all about.

He is slightly obsessed with the cars movie. As in we watch it at least weekly in our house and he got some of the characters from that movie!! He loves them.
Eli also got a tee ball set from daddy! So fun.
A few of Eli's little buddies came over to wish him a happy birthday!
 Wheres the cake?
Sweet Lightning McQueen Cake!! (Mama is just a tad proud!)
He loved having everyone sing happy birthday to him!! So cute.
And he even blew out the candle!
I think I'm going to like this being two business.

First day of spring air!

We of course went to the PARK!!

So fun to watch our little man grow. He can now do things he couldn't do last summer like climb the ladder and go down the big slide! So fun to live life through his rambunctious little world.

Elijah- isms

I just wanted to jot down some funny things that Eli has been saying lately

We have started potty training in our house and Eli got some really cool underpants! Eli is slightly obsessed with "CARS MOBIE" and his underpants have "Lightneen Mqeen" on them! The other morning I got Eli dressed and he looked down at his underpants and said clear as day, "CARS underpants momma! COOL DUDE!" haha so funny.

In the mornings when I go in to get Jude up from his first early morning nap I sometimes lift Eli up into his crib for a little "snuggle" which is more Eli about squishing Juder but Jude really does seem to love this. The other morning during this snuggle Eli so sweetly said to his brother, "Good morning Sunshine!" About melted momma's heart. I say that to Eli every morning (And my mom said it to me every morning). So sweet.

Dave loves to do a "burrito" with Eli wrapping him up in a blanket and unrolling him by pulling the blanket. Hard to explain but it is really funny. The other night we had the dogs down in the living room with us and all of us were playing on the floor. Boomer rolled ontop of Eli's blanket to scratch his back and Eli errupted in laughter exclaiming, "RITO BOOMA!!" I am so glad we are raising our children around dogs. It is obvious the joy and love that those crazy furry mutts bring to our boys :). Even Jude loves getting a doggy kiss!

zoo friends

Best buddies!Look at those big elephants!
Whoa!
Hi five Emmy!

Whenever we get in the car to go somewhere the first words out of Eli's mouth are ,"Jackie's Houws?". And when we tuck him in at night and say our bedtime prayers I say, " and lets pray for our friends." and immediately Eli says, "Jackie, Gorga, Emmy!" So sweet to see him with his best little buddies. Jack and Eli will be in the same school when they get a bit older and it is very fun to think about these two stirring up trouble on the playground!

Cosi fun

My friends Molly and Erin and I and our kiddos headed to Cosi last week. WHAT a blast little Eli had. That place is a fantastic winter activity. We might even think about getting a pass for next year!

This water loop was by far Jackson and Eli's favorite thing!! So fun to watch these little buddies play together.
I loved watching his little wheeles turn!!
Don't you worry little Jude had a blast too flirting with miss Erin and Sophia :)

Wintertime play!

Mostly because everyone is getting if-it-snows-one-more-day-and-we-are-cooped-up-in-thi- house-mom- might-pull-her-hair-out-fever last week we definately tried to get out of the house and play every day. We met some friends at the recreation outlet which is basically a sales room for outdoor play equipment that they open up for free play for one hour in the mornings (genius). Eli was having a blast and even little Jude was enjoying watching all the kids run off thier energy! Definately a place to check out on these long winter days!
 Whoa big slide!
He wasn't too sure at first. I've definately noticed this character trait in him. He is very cautious to try somthing new. In fact I almost have to push him to do it.....
But once I do he ends up loving it and then is thrilled about it :). So funny watching his little personality come out.
This is Jude's preferred ride, in his carseat with his monkey's. Such a happy baby!
"Hey cheeks, remember when you aren't pregnant anymore..... it'd be cool if you stopped looking it." love-muffin top mama.
These three are trouble :). Too fun!

A lesson in picking up a lady

I'm going to sit here sippin on my sippy cup until she notices our feet dangling together under the table.
You from around here? Come here often?

Maybe if I'm real sly I can get my arm around her....
She's digging me, I've got this in the bag....
Well my aim was a little off but I scored a kiss out of the deal. I'm the MAN! Hands off pre-school boys, this lady is all mine :).
love you "Aba"
